Americans from all walks of life – Republicans and Democrats, businesses large and small, people from every part of the country – share the fundamental value that everyone should have the opportunity to get a job and provide for themselves and their families.
That’s why passing the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) is so important. American business is leading the charge in speaking out for ENDA: nearly 90 percent of Fortune 500 companies have sexual orientation non-discrimination policies; while 57 percent have gender identity non-discrimination policies.
As a small business owner, the success of my business is central to my livelihood. That’s why I feel so strongly about hiring and retaining qualified employees based on their talents and merits. Encouraging diversity amongst my employees only strengthens my business, and as a result, boosts my bottom line. It’s an increasingly competitive marketplace – my business needs all the talented employees it can get.
I’m proud to be a small business owner who supports ENDA.
