Creekside Trail at Nescopeck State Park, Sunday June 18th at 10:00am

There are beavers at Nescopeck State Park! The savvy creatures are nocturnal, but we will be able to admire their lodge, and see evidence of their handiwork on flowing water. Our 3 mile hike will take us along the shores of man-made Lake Frances and skirt the cool watered Nescopeck Creek. Be prepared for a damp trail. Waterproof footwear is recommended, or at least ones you don’t mind getting wet.

If you need a ride to the park, please contact us or post here, and we will try to arrange one for you.

From Wilkes-Barre (41 Minutes): Take PA 309 South.

From Scranton (53 minutes): Take Interstate 81 South towards Wilkes-Barre.

Take Exit 165 from 81 to PA 309 South.

After passing beneath the Interstate 81 overpass, begin to look out for Honey Hole Road on your left. Turn left onto Honey Hole Road and drive down it for about 3.5 miles.  The entrance to the parking lot will be on your left with a brown park sign. We will meet in the first parking lot you come to, opposite the environmental center.
